12th IAAF World Championship in Athletics 2009

The „Berlin Organising Committee 2009 GmbH“ has charged the Agency "insglueck" with the conception and realisation of the opening show at the Brandenburg Gate. With the “Welcome-Night” on August 14th, the eve before the tournaments started, Berlin welcomes all friends of athletics, athletes, visitors and helpers to the 12th IAAF World Championship in Athletics.
One of the highlights of this opening-show is the fireworks display at the Brandenburg Gate by Elements Entertainment GmbH. Its showdesigner Hans-Christoph Muecke choreographs a 3minute fireworks display with more than 1000 effects. “The special challenge of this show is the exact ignition of the effects to the live performed music. Furthermore the close proximity to the Brandenburg Gate has to be considered when choosing the effects”, says Friederike Unverzagt, Managing Director of Elements Entertainment GmbH. Unverzagt goes on: “The whole team has done a brilliant job again.”
