Royal Horse Gala, Oman

A sparkling surprise opens the Royal Equestrian & Camel Festival on January 1st, 2011 in Muscat, Oman. One hundred youths create the Indian-Arabic figure 40. On cue, the youths emblaze sparkling flambeaux to honor the 40-year anniversary of the state, as well as the reigning and leadership of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said. A sparkling glimming and glittering 40 opens this unique, traditional show at the Al Fateh Stadium in Muscat.
Over 1000 camels and over 1000 horses are the protagonists at this grand gala event. Largest of it’s kind, in the Middle East. Internationally well known artists, dressage equestrians and horse lovers present their skills at sporting events initiated by PSI. Playing unison with the light design by Jerry Appelt, Elements Entertainment orchestrated special show elements and effects. Six Water basins provide the basis for 50 separate controlled water pumps. In accordance to the music a beautiful and impressing static as well as moving water scenery is created.
All together 8-laser systems emphasize special accents during the show and support the highlighting of the moveable arches. The arches being the heart piece of this gigantic set up - masterminded by Klaus Rahe from PRG. Breathtaking fire sequences support the image of speed during the turmoil of the chariots staged by Mario Luaschi. To achieve this effect Elements Entertainment engaged a system with liquefied gas. 10m high swords can arise as shooting flames and become an invigorating backdrop for horse and rider.
